In India, the
first monorail service will begin its operations in the next month on 8.9 km
Wadala chembur segment in the central eastern suburbs of the metropolis after a
rescheduling of over two years. It is considered the first mono rail service in
Mumbai.
Maharashtra
chief minister Prithviraj chavan will take the decision to inaugurate the
monorail services on first February 2014. Mumbai metropolitan region
development authority Chief UPS Madan said on the Thursday, the commercial
operations will start from the coming day. It is the recent announcement, said
by some sources.
The investment amount
3000 crore will be invested in this project and executed in two phases. It is
announced that on Saturday, the first phase along with 8.9 km long Wadala Chembur
segment will be opened to the public, while in the second phase the services
will be delivered to Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk in South Mumbai.
In
the first phase, Mumbai metropolitan region development authority will operate
the six trains and another 10 trains will be added in the second phase. The authority
takes the right decision to fix the fares between Rs 5-11. To start with, the
admired services will be launched along with four coaches carrying the capacity
of 2,300 passengers at every fifteen minutes, Madan said. If you are looking to
