DDA Majorly focuses on new areas to make Delhi 'World-Class City’

DDA majorly concentrates on the rapidly growing areas of the urban to make Delhi, a world class city. In order to make it as the world class city and to cater to the surplus demand for various housing units to accommodate the growing population, Delhi development authority under the master plan 2021 is mainly concentrating on the new regions at Zone J, K, L, N & P (P-I and P-II) for nurturing residential projects. According to the master plan, approximately 24 lakh housing units will be needed for a predictable 23 million people by 2021 year. On an average, the enough space needed per person would be 40 square meter and covering nearly 920 square kilometer of the inhabited area for the projected population.


In the recent event on DDA’s land pooling policy, Alka Arya, deputy director planning, Land Pooling Cell, DDA said, “Presently, privately owned land is available more in the capital city, which is not more adequate to meet the growing demand. Hence, it has become very essential & important that new housing areas have opened adequately. This housing policy will solve the severe lack of the land in the Delhi and make a capital as the world class and workable metropolis. It is an indispensable requirement of the hour that we make Delhi, a capital urban of the country, a world class city. Therefore, we have launched various housing plans for making the Delhi, a capital city in and around the globe.
